Around this time last year, Travis Hatch from our very own Overhead Door Company of Lubbock was featured on a segment called "Member Focus" with the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce. The segment was with President and CEO of the Lubbock Chamber, Eddie McBride.
A Family Business in Lubbock for Three Generations
Travis is from the Lubbock area and graduated from Coronado High School in 2005. He explains to Eddie McBride that Overhead Door Company of Lubbock was started by his grandfather, Tim Hatch in 1951. Travis's father, Alan Hatch is the current owner of Overhead Door and took over the company from his father in 1985. Travis and his brother Cliff Hatch both work at Overhead Door Co. of Lubbock which would make them the third generation. McBride stated, "It's awful cool to have family businesses in Lubbock and especially obviously folks that are third generation, so that doesn't happen very often." Travis responded with, "It's a good experience working next to my brother and my dad every day."
When asked what's the most fun things Travis and his brother does as far as Overhead Door, "It's always fun to go on a job site and try to figure out a problem or figure out something to make something work and it's pretty entertaining being next to my brother when we have a to try to use our problem-solving skills together."
